Happy New Year to my clients and colleagues! With the arrival of January, many of us are thinking about ways that we can start the year out fresh and exciting. Resolutions are made to better ourselves … to become healthier, smarter, richer or more beautiful.
As we spend so much time indoors during the winter months, it is also a perfect time to beautify our homes and surroundings with a brand new look and color scheme. Pantone LLC, a leading authority on color trends, has named Radiant Orchid as the 2014 Color of the Year; a warm, vibrant color with a mix of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones. Incorporated in fabrics and accessories, this versatile color would make any room pop with energy. Decorative accents in this hue set against neutral gray or beige colored walls, or an accent wall of Sherwin Williams 2014 Color of the Year, Exclusive Plum, may add excitement and intrigue when staging a home. Complimentary colors of olive green, copper or turquoise would go well with it. Of course, when choosing a color palette for decorating, it depends on one’s personality and style.
Later this month, I will be attending the Real Estate Staging Association’s (RESA) Convention in Las Vegas, featuring keynote speaker Barbara Corcoran and others, for new ideas and information. While there, I also hope to peruse the Las Vegas World Market for new trends in interior design to share with you. Looking forward to it!
